7. TROUBLESHOOTING
1. DESCRIZIONE DEI COMPONENTI
Under particular conditions the fan might show malfunctions which are
often evident or determined by accidental causes or, more often, simple
ones.
Defect
The fan does not start.
The fan does not signal with a "beep" the reception of the signal sent by
the remote control?
The remote control display goes dim when a command is sent.
During the winter time, is the starting of the fan delayed by a few minutes
or does it suddenly stop and restart after some time?
During winter use, does the fan turn for a couple of minutes when the fan
is turned off?
Doesn't the fan cool enough?
Is there condensation showing on the surface of the fan, particularly round
the cold air outlet?
Does the fan not heat sufficiently?
The fan emits unpleasant odours
Is the fan receiving electrical power?

Attention!
Before calling the technical service for assistance, it is suggested to carry
out a few simple checks, this in order to keep on using the fan at the best of
its performances, as well as to prevent needless assistance interventions.
Possible cause
• Is the fan power supplied?
• Are there wrong function settings on the remote control?
• Is something obstructing the reception of the infra-red signal bythe fan?
(you should hear a "beep")
• Are the remote control's batteries correctly inserted?
• Are remote control's batteries flat?
• This is normal because the fan is equipped with a thermal sensor fitted on
the coil in the indoor unit, which allows the fan to start once the temperature
has reached 38 °C.
• It is a normal situation: the fan is eliminating all the heat present in the
exchanger
• Has the temperature been correctly set on the remote control?
• Are the indoor unit air filters dirty or clogged?
• Is there an open window?
• If the room is very humid this phenomenon is considered normal.
• If the room is not excessively humid check the correct direction of the air
flowing out of the fan.
• Open windows.
• Has the temperature been correctly set on the remote control?
If the fan is installed very high up, it is advisable to set the temperature
on the remote control 4/5 °C higher, because of the phenomenon of
stratification of warm air.
• Are the indoor unit air filters dirty or clogged?
• Are the filters clean?
• Has normal maintenance (cleaning the coil) been carried out?
• When the fan begins to cool or stops during heating, it is possible to hear
noises such as rustling or gurgling, which are due to the circulation of the
refrigerant in the conditioner.
• On starting or stopping the fan, creaking can be heard which is due to
expansion.
