According to the German Road Traffic Authorisation Order these important
functions must be tested each time you use the bike!
Saddle Saddle and support must be secure against
turning (15 NM)
Observe the minimum insertion height
Balls of the feet can reach the floor
Handlebars/
Front end Handlebar tube protected against turning (15 NM)
Observe the minimum insertion mark
Handlebar top tube secure against turning in
the front end (15 NM)
Handlebars protected against turning, upright
Seating position
Handbrake Brake lever protected against turning (5 NM),
easily accessible
Functions properly
Brake cover clean, free of grease, correct position
Back pedal brake Works properly
Chain Chain tension OK (hangs down max. 1.5 cm)
Adequate lubrication
Chain protection complete
Tyres Adequate profile/air pressure
(correct air pressure is on the tyres)
Wheels Axle nuts tightened firmly (20 NM)
Centred
Tighten spokes evenly
Pedals Installed correctly and firmly (observe L/R)
Easily turned
Bell Sounds bright, easily reached
Front light Sits firmly and correctly/functions ok
Dynamo Small wheel rests well on the cover/easy to move
Good earth contact, connection empty and fixed
Rear light Sits firmly and correctly/functions ok
