HeraCeram
HeraCeram is the veneering ceramic for traditional bonding alloys with a CTE range (α25–500°C) of
between 13.5–14.9 μm/mK.
Framework preparation: sandblast the framework surface with 125 μm blasting corundum (Al
then clean it carefully (e.g. steam cleaner).
Oxide firing followed by oxide removal is carried out in accordance with the instructions for the respec-
tive dental alloy.
Veneering of non-precious metal frameworks: For reliable metal ceramic bonding on non-precious
metal frameworks, we recommend using the NP Primer or Pre-Opaque. They are applied in a very thin,
even layer to the framework. Please refer to the firing table for the firing procedure.
Opaquer application: For covering and basic colouration, a thin layer of opaquer is also evenly applied
and fired. If the opaquer does not provide complete coverage, repeat the procedure again.
Dentine/Incisal build-up: Ceramic veneering is built up in a 2-layer technique, or depending on the
aesthetic wishes required, with additional individual compounds.
Please note: When grinding ceramic materials, a mask and eye protection should be worn and a
dust extractor used. Avoid inhaling the ceramic dust.
Glaze firing: The level of glazing of the ceramic surface can be regulated via the temperature and the
hold time to the final temperature during glaze firing. The settings indicated for the glaze firing tem-
perature and hold time, therefore, only serve as a guide which need to be adjusted according to the
desired result in each case. HeraCeram can also be polished mechanically. Our Signum
have proven highly effective for final polishing.
