6. INSTRUMENT INSTALLATION

CAUTION
Installation of the energy meter and water volumetric meters inside
the assemblies must be carried out only after having washed system.
6.1 Energy meter installation
- Close the 4 ball valves located on the flow and return lines of the hea-
ting and cooling circuit.
- On the return line, unscrew the 2 nuts and remove the steel infill valve
with relative gaskets.
- Install the energy meter by interposing the appropriate gaskets (sup-
plied with the instrument) and observing the direction of the flow
shown on the brass body of the energy meter itself, from right to left
(as illustrated in the figure below).
- For the installation of the energy meter flow probe, unscrew the cap
M10x1 from the thermowell on the valve with the red butterfly handle
equipped with probe connection M10x1, making certain to remove the
Teflon gasket located around the cap as well.
- Position the threaded fitting on the flow probe as close as possible
to the end of the probe itself (thus hiding the grooves present on the
probe) a and then insert the O-ring on the probe until it rests against
the fitting in the specified position b (see the figure below).
- Screw the probe onto the valve.
- Open the ball valves.
- After having checked the hydraulic seal of the fittings, put the seals
on the energy meter using the holes located underneath the butterfly
handles of the valves upstream and downstream of the meter.
- Put the seal on the temperature probe using the hole located underne-
ath the butterfly handle of the valve in which the flow probe is housed.
CAUTION
It is mandatory to install the electronic unit separately from the flow-
rate meter body when the energy meter is served by a summer air
conditioning system (cooled water).
In this regard, you can use the plastic hook complete with plugs and
double-sided adhesive tape supplied with the energy meter for sepa-
rate installation of the electronic unit.
For installation inside the box assemblies, consult the instructions
sheet supplied with the appropriate bracket to be used for separate
installation of the electronic unit.
CAUTION
If possible, install the energy meter so as to keep a straight pipe sec-
tion upstream with a length of 150 mm.
