6. EXTERNAL UNIT INSTALLATION
1. DESCRIZIONE DEI COMPONENTI
Installation and maintenance activities on the air conditioners can
be done by personnel and companies holding appropriate certifi-
cate according to the Regulation (EC) Nr. 303/2008 which provides
the minimum requirements of the companies and of the personnel
about fixed units of refrigeration, air condition and heating pumps
which contain some fluorinated greenhouse gases, according to
the Regulation (EC) nr. 842/2006 of the European Parliament and
of the Council.
- Installation must be performed by qualified and authorized personnel.
- Do not attempt to install the unit by yourself.
- For any repairs, contact the service centre.
- Repairs of an electrical nature must be performed by qualified
electricians.
- Improper operations may cause serious harm to the user.

The right installation of the air conditioner assure its efficiency
Therefore we invite you to follow the instructions carefully about positio-
ning, installation, connexions and test listed in these manuals.
CAUTION
Danger cut: use of gloves.
If the conditions are met Arrange for work at height.
6.1 External unit installation
- Install the anti –vibration rubber pads under the external unit (acces-
sory provided separately) and place the unit on a raised part of at
least 10 cm as shown in Fig. A.
- Make sure about the stability and the levelling of the surface where
unit is placed.
- When several external units have to be installed, it is essential to
assure distances between the units which do not restrict air circu-
lation to the single units and to make maintenance operations easier
(Fig. B)
- In case of under roof installation or similar, please follow the indica-
tions shown in fig. C.

6.2 Outdoor unit condensation drain pipe
The outdoor unit is provided with a hole in the lower part of the frame,
which through a conical connection (supplied), drains the condensation
water.
- The rubber union attachment is a push-fit (Fig. A).
- The condensation drain-pipeline should be slightly tilted so as to
favour the natural outflow.
- It is advisable to use a plastic pipe sufficiently rigid to avoid its being
flattened.

It is advisable to be able to visually check the outlet drain at the end of
the piping, or alternatively insert a transparent section in the tubing
itself when it flows into an outlet which cannot be inspected.
