Checking Out-of-Balance
To avoid out-of-balance blades:
Have your dealer check the blade

for out-of-balance on a STIHL
balancer (special accessory) –
STIHL recommends an authorized
STIHL servicing dealer. If blade is
out-of-balance, always install a new
one
Preparations

Place the flower bed edger so that

the blade mounting (1) faces
upwards

Removing the Blade

Insert the stop pin (2) – see "Special
N
accessories" – as far as it will go into
the hole (3) – shaft is blocked.
Fit the Allen wrench (5) on the
N
screw (6)
Loosen screw clockwise (left-hand
N
thread) and remove it
Remove thrust washer (7).
N
Remove blade (8) and replace.
N
Installing the Blade

The collar (arrow) of the thrust plate
must engage the hole in the blade.

Position the blade (8) on the thrust
plate (4)
WARNING
Place thrust washer (7) onto the
shaft (9) with the arched side facing
upwards and block the shaft.
Screw the screw (6)
counterclockwise (left-hand thread)
onto the shaft and tighten it.
