14. LiXX fast-charge program
Fast-charging LiXX:
The special charge process used for LiXX batteries (gradual current reduction after the final charge voltage is reached) results
in a very long charge time, particularly towards the end of the process - since the pack continues to be charged for a while at a
very low current - but without significantly increasing the pack's available capacity. The FAST CHARGE program can be used
to shorten the charge process: although the pack is not charged to a full 100%, the difference is slight, and usually insignificant

in use.
ATTENTION: if the balancer lead is not connected, the individual cells will not be balanced!
LiPo FAST CHG:
Press the 'Batt. Type / Stop' button to move to the PROGRAM SELECT - LiPo BATT menu. Now press 'Start - Enter' for the 'LiPo
FAST CHG' menu.

The default pre-set charge current and cell count are displayed on the screen. If you wish to change these settings, press 'Start
of cell Charging

- Enter' again: the charge current starts to flash, and can now be changed using the DEC or INC button. Pressing the 'Start -
Charging current
Enter' button again takes you to the cell count, which can be adjusted in the same manner.
When the settings are correct, hold the 'Start - Enter' button pressed in for three seconds; the charger then initiates the auto-
matic cell detect process BATTERY CHECK (please refer to Chapter 11 for details of programming the CHK time), and displays
the values on the screen. If everything is correct, press the 'Start - Enter' button to initiate the charge process; if you need to
correct the values again, you can interrupt the process with 'Stop'.
To interrupt the charge process before it terminates automatically, press the 'Stop' button.
WARNING: it is absolutely essential to enter the correct charge current and cell count at this point, otherwise the
battery may be damaged or - worse - ignite or even explode!
If you press the INC button during the charge / discharge process, the screen will display the individual cell voltages of the
battery connected to the charger. Pressing the INC button again takes you back to the Charge display.
Note: if the voltage of one cell differs substantially from the others during the charge / discharge process, the screen displays the
warning BATTERY VOL ERROR, and the charger halts the process; the screen also shows the CELL LOW VOL alert (= low cell
voltage). Pressing the INC button again at this point takes you to a display of the individual cell voltages, where you can see that
the voltage of cell 3 is too low, and the balancer is unable to correct it. If this should happen, your battery needs to be checked.
