D– Speed preset
You use this to select the maximum speed of your wheelchair. Press the MODE key. The 5
LED for the speed preset will flash. By pushing the joystick to the left, you will reduce the
mobile speed, by moving the joystick to the right, you will increase this to the maximum
permissible speed (6 or 10 kmh). Moving the joystick forwards or backwards will accept the
current value and the electronics will change to drive mode.
E– Charge connector
The batteries in your wheelchair are recharged using a 3-pin charge connector at the front
of your operating pod. The same connector is also used for programming your drive elec-
tronics with the PP1 programming device.
IMPORTANT– Modules for electronic adjustments and/or lights are only used on wheelchairs
which are fitted with a light unit and/or electronic adjusters.
F– Light unit
Your operating pod has keys for lights, indicators (right, left) and hazard warning lights.
Pressing the key switches the function on, pressing it again switches the function off.
G– Options for electronic adjustments
If your wheelchair has electronically adjustable options (leg rests, backrest, etc.), you can
adjust these as follows: Press the MODE key, the speed display flashes. By pressing the
MODE key again, the appropriate wheelchair symbol LED lights up, between the joystick and
the battery displays. Moving the joystick forwards adjusts the selected electronic option,
and by moving the joystick backwards, the adjustment is made in the reverse direction. If
you have several electronic options on your wheelchair, then selection is made by moving
the joystick to the left and/or right, and adjustment is made by pushing the joystick for-
wards or backwards. Pressing the MODE key takes you back to drive mode.
H–Joystick Boot
Make sure the boot is not torn or cracked (this could allow debris, water or moisture to
enter). If the boot is torn or cracked, replace it as soon as you can.
Using the immobiliser with the Penny&Giles drive electronics
Connection:
Connection is made via the recessed socket under the housing, with the plug of the
joystick cable. When removing the console, please pull the plug out from under the
operating console (only applicable for Pilot+).
Switching on the immobiliser:
With the wheelchair switched on, plug the 3-pin connector plug into the charge
socket and then pull it out again. The operating display is extinguished. Your wheel-
chair is then protected against unauthorised use.
Switching the immobiliser off
Press the green on/off switch. The speed display will begin to flash. Now plug the 3-
pin connector plug into the charge socket and then pull it out again. The normal oper-
ating display will appear on the operating console. Your wheelchair is then enabled.
