Start-up
Attention!
Prior to use, check that the specifications of your
mains power supply correspond to the mains
voltage and mains frequency indicated on the
name plate.
Attention!
Always connect an upstream RCD with a maximum
tripping current of 30 mA.
Attention!
Use an as short as possible power cable length
with a large conductor cross-section of the power
cable.
Setting the slot width
CAUTION!
Risk of severe injuries.
Switch off the machine. Unplug.

CAUTION!
Risk of severe injuries.
Never press the spindle locking
¾
knob [9] with the machine running
(even when the machine is running
down)!
Do not use any accessories, that are not specially
provided and recommended for this power tool.
Set the maximum cutting depth (see "Adjusting the
cutting depth").
Press in the spindle locking knob [9].
With the other hand, slowly rotate the front dia-
mond cut-off wheel [18] until the spindle locking
knob perceptibly engages
With the spindle locking knob [9] pressed in,
unscrew (anticlockwise direction) the clamping
nut [17] using the supplied 2-hole-spanner.
The clamping flange [19] must always be placed
on the spindle with its collar facing outwards (see
Fig. II, A - E). Ensure that the clamping
flange [19] cannot rotate relative to the spindle.

Position diamond cut-off wheel; ensure the correct
direction of rotation. The direction of rotation is in-
dicated by arrows on the diamond cut-off wheels
and by arrows [16] on the protective guard [15]
Arrangement of the distance rings [20] and the
diamond cut-off wheels (according to the desired
slot width) (see fig. II, A - E).
Instruction for use of the machine
with only one diamond cut-off
wheel
If the front diamond cut-off wheel is
removed and only the rear wheel left
on the machine, the wall chaser is also
suitable for through cutting (e.g. of
tiles) (see fig. II, F).
Lock the spindle by pressing in the spindle locking
knob [9].
Tighten the clamping nut [17] by turning it clock-
wise using the 2-hole spanner [13].
Perform test run: Adjusting the minimum cutting
depth (see "Adjusting the cutting depth").
Position yourself away from the plane of the
rotating abrasive wheel and run the device at
maximum no-load speed for one minute.
Ensure that all other persons maintain a safe
distance.
Damaged abrasive wheels will normally break
apart during this test time. Stop immediately if
significant vibrations occur or other faults are ob-
served. If this situation occurs, inspect the machine
to identify the cause.

Setting the cutting depth

Loosen clamping lever [1].
Set the desired cutting depth according to the [4].
Retighten clamping lever [1].
Note
If necessary, the position/clamping
force of the clamping lever [1] must
be changed. To do so, pull the lever
out slightly, rotate the lever and lower
again (see fig. I, A).
