CUSTOMIZING DVD SETUP (CONTINUED)
Ratings
Sets the rating limit allowed to playback on this unit
when playing discs with restriction level encoding.
SETTING THE RATING
The default setting is "Level 8".
1 Select "Ratings" in the setup menu. Then
press DISC ENTER.
2 Select your desired level and press DISC
ENTER.
The smaller the number, the higher the level of
restriction. For instance, setting the rating level to
1 will restrict playback of all discs with a rating
level from 2 to 8, either by cutting certain scenes
or disabling playback altogether, depending on the
disc. Check your disc for details.

The country code needs to be set correctly, since
the rating system differs with the country.
When "Other Country" is selected in the country
code, the display changes to accept 4-digit
numbers. Input a 4-digit country code shown on
page 62 in the same way as inputting the
language code (page 56).
Note
The country code is different from the language
code stated before.
Example: country code for "United States" is "8583".

a four-digit password.
6 Press DISC ENTER.

Do not forget the password you set!
If you forget your password
Reset the unit to initial condition (see "To Reset
DVD Setup", page 66) and set all the settings
again including the "Ratings" setting.
7 After confirming the password, press DISC
ENTER again.
Your entry is saved.
8 Press SETUP/TM to exit the setup menu.
CHANGING THE SETTINGS
Once the ratings settings have been set, you first need
to enter the password to change them.
1 Select "Ratings" in the setup menu. Then
press DISC ENTER.
2 Input four-digit password and press DISC
ENTER.
