HDS 891 / 1291 ST
1. General information
The heating facility of the HDS 891 / 1291 ST
is a furnace system; observe locally applicable
regulations regarding installation.
A lockable master switch (6), capable of
switching off the whole furnace system,
must be mounted in a safe, easily accessible,
location.
2. Fuel Oil Tank
The regulations governing the storage of
inflammable liquids must be observed when
installing a fuel oil tank.
Copies of these regulations can be obtained
from Carl-Heymanns-Verlag, Luxemburger
Str. 449, D-50939 Köln, Federal Republic of
Germany.
3. Fuel Intake Lines
Attention should be paid to the following
diagram when installing the fuel intake lines.
A two-line system should be provided: supply
line and return line. The maximum fuel oil input
pressure is 0.5 bar. The maximum negative
pressure between fuel oil filter and pump is
0.4 bar.

Intake height in m
Possible intake pipe length with pipe diameter
of NW 8
4. Exhaust Gas Flue
We recommend the fitting of a draught
interrupter between the unit and the chimney.

Important!
The chimney draught specified in the technical
data must be complied with in order to achieve
the prescribed combustion values.
5. Wall Mounting
Before commencing installation, the load-
bearing capacity of the wall must be tested.
The mounting equipment that has been supplied
is suitable for concrete. Appropriate bolts and
plugs (e.g. injection-type wall anchors) must be
used for cavity block, brick and aerated
concrete walls. (See Dimensional Diagram
for drilling schematic.)
The unit should not be connected by rigid pipes
to the water supply line or the high-pressure
pipe network. Connecting hoses (19 and 23)
must be fitted in every case.
A shut-off tap should be fitted between the
mains water supply network and the connecting
hose.
6. Installing The High-pressure Lines
Installation should be carried out in accordance
with the details given in the (German) VDMA
Standard Leaflet 24416 "Fixed Installation
High-Pressure Cleaning Systems; Terms,
Requirements, Installation, Testing".
(Available from Beuth-Verlag, Cologne.)
The drop in pressure within the pipeline must be
less than 15 bar.
The finished pipeline must be tested at 250 bar.
The pipeline insulation must be temperature-
resistant up to 155 °C.
7. Siting The Detergent Containers
The containers (20) should be sited so that the
lowest level of detergent is no more than 1.5 m
below the base of the unit, and the top surface
level is not higher than the unit base.
