Connecting the luminaire
to the mains voltage and
mounting it (mains version)
NOTE: This chapter applies only to lumi-
naires with the letter N in the model num-
ber, for example MQAL 12 N.
To connect the luminaires, we recommend
using connecting cables found in the Wald-
mann range of accessories.
WARNING
Danger of death due to electric shock.
X Connection by a skilled electrician
only.
NOTICE
Material damage caused by wrong
mains voltage.
Damage or destruction of the luminaire.
X Compare the mains voltage with the
nominal voltage and the frequency
specified on the rating plate and make
sure that they are identical.
X With M12 plug: Observe the pin
assignment and the socket assign-
ment.
NOTICE
Material damage caused by using
unsuitable connecting cables.
Damage or destruction of the luminaire.
X Use a flexible connecting cable.
X Use a connecting cable with
strands which have a conductor
cross-section of 1.0 mm².

X Remove the hexagon nut and the
reducer with the cable gland from the
base of the luminaire, see Tab. 3, page
22.
X Insert the base of the luminaire through
the opening in the mounting surface.
X Align the luminaire in the desired direc-
tion.
X Fix the luminaire by means of the hex-
agon nut.
