Cushion Placement
Warning: When possible, use hook and loop fasteners to further secure the cushion to the
seating surface. Hook fasteners are available upon request.
1 Make sure the cover is correctly installed on the cushion. See the instructions for cover
placement.
Note: If an insert is used, place it inside the cover, beneath the foam base. Refer to the
instructions provided with the insert. See "Product Specifications" for a list of compatible
inserts.
2 Place the cushion on the wheelchair seat.
Note: The symbol on the cover showing the seated figure may be used to help orient cushion.
3 The individual should transfer to the cushion and sit in their usual sitting position.
- Confirm that the lowest bony prominences are supported by the air cells.
- Make sure that the cushion is properly sized to the individual and the wheelchair.
Cover Removal and Placement
Warning: The AirLITE must be used with the provided cover.
Cover Removal: Unzip the cover. Remove the cover from the cushion.
Cover Placement: Unzip the cover. Insert the cushion into the cover, front edge first, with the
contoured foam facing up and the zipper in the back. Close the zipper.
Note: Refer to the label on the bottom of the cushion and to the image on the cover to
correctly orient the cover.
Note: Replace any hook fastener strips that were removed prior to washing.
Troubleshooting
For additional assistance, contact the equipment provider, distributor, or Customer Support.
The cushion feels uncomfortable or unstable.
The cushion slides on the wheelchair.
The cushion exhibits unusual stiffness;the cushion
has been in temperatures lower than 32ºF (0ºC)
A component is damaged.
Storage, Transport, Disposal and Recycling
Storage or Transport: Clean and disinfect the product. Place in a container that protects the product from moisture, contaminants and damage.
After storing or transporting, inspect the product to ensure it was not damaged (see "Troubleshooting"), and follow instructions to prepare the
product for use.
Disposal: The components of the products in this manual are associated with no known environmental hazards when properly used and when
disposed of in accordance with all local/regional regulations. At the end of its useful life, treat as healthcare waste and dispose of according to
local healthcare-waste guidelines. Incineration must be performed by a qualified, licensed waste management facility.
Recycling: Contact a local recycling agency to determine recycling options for the product.

» Confirm that the cushion is properly sized to the individual.
» Confirm that the contoured foam faces up and the zipper is in the back.
» Confirm that there are no obstructions between the cushion and the seating surface.
» Consult with a clinician.
» Make sure that the non-skid bottom of the cushion cover faces away from the individual.
» If a seat insert is used, make sure it is inside the cover, beneath the foam base.
» When possible, use hook and loop fasteners to further secure the cushion to the
wheelchair. Hook fasteners are available upon request.
Before use, allow the cushion to warm to room temperature.
