Only use saw blades with diameters
corresponding to the labels on the saw.
g. Always use a suitable dust extractor
when cutting wood.
h. Always wear a dust mask when cutting

Safety instructions for cutting-off
machines
a. The protective hood belonging to the
power tool must be securely mounted
and set so that it provides maximum
safety, that is, the smallest possible
portion of the grinding tool facing the
operator is exposed. Make sure that
you and nearby persons are not in line
with the rotating grinding wheel. The
protective hood should protect the oper-
ator from fragments and accidental
contact with the grinding tool.
b. Only use bonded, reinforced or dia-
mond-set cutting discs for your power
tool. Securing the accessories on your
power tool is no guarantee for safe use.
c. The permissible speed of the fitted
tool must be at least as high as the
maximum speed specified on the
power tool. Accessories that rotate
faster than permissible may break and
be projected.
d. Grinding tools may only be used for
the recommended applications. For
example: Never grind using the side of
a cutting disc. Cutting discs are
intended for removing material using
the edge of the disc. Forces acting on
12
the side of the grinding tool could shat-
ter it.
e. Always use an undamaged clamping
flange of the correct size and shape to
secure the grinding wheel of your
choice. Suitable flanges support the
grinding wheel and reduce the risk of
the grinding wheel breaking.
f.
Do not use worn grinding wheels from
larger power tools. Grinding wheels for
larger power tools are not designed to
handle the higher speeds of smaller
power tools and could break as a result.
g. The outer diameter and thickness of
the fitted tool must correspond to the
measurements of your power tool.
Incorrectly dimensioned fitted tools can
not be adequately shielded or
controlled.
h. Grinding wheels and flanges must fit
the grinding spindle of your power tool
perfectly. Fitted tools that do not fit the
grinding spindle of the power tool
exactly will rotate unevenly, vibrate sig-
nificantly and may result in a loss of
control.
i.
Do not use any damaged grinding
wheels. Check the grinding wheels for
splinters and cracks before each use.
If the power tool or the grinding wheel
is dropped, check whether it is dam-
aged or use a grinding wheel that is
not damaged. If you have checked the
grinding wheel and fitted it, ensure
that you and nearby persons are not in
line with the rotating grinding wheel
and let the device run at full speed for
one minute. In most cases, damaged
grinding wheels will break during this
test period.
j.
Wear personal protective gear. Depend-
ing on the application, wear full facial
protection, eye protection or protective
goggles. If appropriate, wear a dust
mask, ear protection, protective gloves
or a special apron to keep ground parti-
cles and other material particles away
from you. Your eyes should be protected
from projected debris produced in con-
nection with different applications. The
dust or protective breathing mask must
