1. Initial start-up and installation of Mobile Assistant
programmes
Inserting the SIM card and battery and charging up the device.
Before the Smartphone can be used you must insert the SIM card in the device, put in
the battery and charge it up. To do this, remove the cover of the battery compartment
by sliding it down. Remove the battery if this is already in the device. Insert the SIM
card into the SIM card socket so that the gold edge is pointing down. Replace the bat-
tery and close the battery compartment. Plug the connector of the charger into the
sync/charger socket. During charging the battery charge display at the top of the device
illuminates. The battery is fully charged as soon as the battery charge display extin-
guishes.
After charging, press and hold the power key (on the top left of the phone) for
2–3 seconds to switch on the Smartphone. Wait until the Smartphone has started up.
Start-up takes longer than one minute. Then you choose «Phone on». As soon as
the Smartphone starts up, a dialogue appears asking you to enter your PIN. Enter the
PIN for your SIM card and press «OK».

Initial installation of the Mobile Assistant programmes
Make sure that the memory card supplied with the device is not inserted during the
initial launch (the slot is located on the top right of the phone) and that the date and
time are correct. Only then you can use all the pre-installed programmes.
How to install the Mobile Assistant programmes
You must install each Mobile Assistant programme separately. To assist you, we are
providing step-by-step instructions here for installing the «Voice Services» programme.
Starting from step 2, the installation steps for all the other programmes are the same.
Step 1
Please note: Launch the device without inserting the
memory card. After launching it for the first time
take the enclosed memory card and insert it in the
device while it is running. A window appears after
approximately 10 seconds for installing the soft-
ware MA Installer. Please click «Install». The Mobile
Assistant installation programme is installed. After
installation you can open this immediately and install
the Mobile Assistant programmes by going through
the following steps.
