Commissioning

a) Installing the Steering Servo
If the servo holders (see figure on the right, items 1 and
2) have already been installed on the chassis, you need to
screw them off first.
Attach the servo holders to the steering servo. Matching
screws should be included with your servo.

Push the servo lever (3) onto the drive axle of the steering

servo. The steering servo must be in the centre position
for this (neutral position).

Attach the servo lever with a screw on the drive axis of the
steering servo, so that the servo lever points up vertically
after installation of the steering servo. A matching screw
should be enclosed with your servo.
Insert the steering servo into the vehicle so that the pins on the bottom of the servo holders are pushed into the
associated holes of the chassis.
Screw the two servo holders with the steering servo installed on them to the chassis.
b) Installing the Electric Motor
A matching electric motor must be purchased separately;
it is not part of the delivery.
The motor must be designed for a power supply by 2 LiPo
2
cells (battery rated voltage 7.4 V) or for 6 NiMH cells (rated
voltage 7.2 V).
Install a matching motor pinion (build 48 dp) on the motor
shaft.

Insert the motor into the motor holding plate (1) and screw
it on only slightly. The screws must not be too long, or the
motor would be impaired in its function.
Observe that the motor pinion is running precisely on the
main pinion and is not offset to the side.
Then set the tooth backlash properly.
The distance between the motor pinion and main gear (2) must be as low as possible without the gears being too
tight.
How to achieve this?
Loosen the two attachment screws of the motor a little bit so that it can be moved in the oblong holes of the motor
holding plate but does not wobble. Push the motor with the motor pinion in the direction of the main gear with light
pressure.
