5.9 ELECTRIC SYSTEM

- Battery
Check electrolyte level and keep it topped up so that the battery elements are
always covered. Add distilled water with the engine switched off and with no
naked flames nearby. Check battery clamp fixing performance and keep them
greased with Vaseline. Keep the battery clean and if the tractor has to be
inactive for a long time, remove the battery and store it in a cool dry place.
- Clogging gauge of the engine air filter
Check that the clogging gauge of the engine air filter is in the correct position
and, if it is serviced, make sure that it is correctly assembled and protected
against the outdoor weather conditions as indicated in fig. 4.
It is essential for the cable connecting to the electrical system of the machine N°
1 fig. 4 to come out of the lower part of the actual gauge itself. The engine air
intake circuit could be seriously damaged if the protection is installed in the
wrong position.
- Fuses
Before changing a fuse, find and eliminate the short circuit that caused it to blow.
The fuses protect the following circuits: (Fig.16):
A = Rh dipped beam (7.5A).
B = Lh dipped beam (7.5A).
C = Rh front, lh rear side lights, 7-pin socket, license plate light, rpm meter –
hour meter light (10A).
D = Lh front, rh rear side lights, 7-pin socket, coolant temperature indicator, fuel
gauge indicator lighting (10A).
E = Driving beams, driving beam indicator, driving beam blinker (10A).
F = Parking brake switch power supply (10A).
G = Horn (15A).
H = +30 power supply of 1-pin socket, hazard light switch (25A).
I = Power supply of rear draft energizing connector, PTO selector switch (10A).
L = Power supply of motor stop solenoid (10A).
M = Alternator, preheater plant energizing, power supply for 7-pin socket power,
clogging filter indicator, engine oil pressure indicator, generator indicator,
fuel reserve indicator, fuel level indicator instrument, coolant temperature
indicator instrument (7.5A).
N = +15 power supply of hazard light switch (10A).
The tractor has a main 60A knife blade fuse inside the cab on the right of the air
deflector (4 Fig. 12). This fuse protects the entire electric system
