G. DIFFICULTIES
THE MILL DOES NOT START. Check that:
• The plug (1) is properly in the socket, and that the safety button (2) is pressed in. Press safety
button (2). Sometimes this is difficult to do. If necessary, insist with strong pressure (use a handle
of knife, a rule or other strong tool).
• The starter switch is in "ON" position (red dot).
• The main socket is on and working -if in doubt, try other apparatus eg lamp, mixer, etc. in same
socket-.
THE MILL STOPS WHILE IN USE
• The safety button n°2 will probably have sprung out:
o Close the inlet aperture control knob (14) and regulate on coarse milling.
o Wait for about a minute for the thermal relay to cool down. Reset safety button and motor
should start again.
o Partially open the inlet aperture control knob (14). If milling and ejection of flour are
normally done, this difficulty was due to damp grains and/or feed in grain too important.
So you will have to dry again your grains o to reduce the feed in.
• If the mill does not start again, or stops when reset safety button (2) even after several trials:
o Millstones are still soiled.
o You have to dry grains before a new milling.
o Check if flour selector (9) is not filled up with flour.
DIFFICULTIES TO TURN THE UPPR MILLSTONE
• Clean the thread of the upper millstone (12). Before replacing the millstone use a drop of sewing
machine oil.
Cleaning grinding millstones. Never use a hammer, graver or other sharp tool to unscrew the millstone.
HOW TO UNCLOG GRINDING FACES WITHOUT TAKING MILL APART
• Put starter switch (3) in the "OFF" position.
• Turn clockwise button (14) in order to completely close the inlet aperture.
• Unscrew locking screw 2 turns (4).
• Unscrew upper millstone (12) about half a turn.
• Tighten locking nut (4).
• Press safety button (2).
• Switch on (3). Motor will run.
• Feed in with some very dry grains (about 200 g) at this regulating. Millstones are cleaned with
this coarse grinding and paste is going away.
• Adjust at the required fineness of milling as above mentioned.
• If, during operation the mill is going to stop while in use, that means that your millstones are still
soiled: you will have to clean the components of the milling.
CLEANING GRINDING MILLSTONES
• Put starter switch (3) in the "OFF" position. Unplug the mill.
• Empty hopper of all grains.
• Undo locking screw (4), 2 turns.
• Completely unscrew upper millstone (12). Take care not to damage the thread on the casting.
• Clean grinding millstones by removing paste stuck to them. Clean out the hollows with small
screwdriver or pointed knife.
NEVER WASH the grinding millstones. If they wet accidentally, leave them apart somewhere warm to
dry for about three days or place it in the owen for 12 hours at the temperature of 40°C.
