6. Place a collecting container (13/3) for the old oil
beneath.
7. Tilt the engine over the collecting container so
that all of the oil can drain out of the oil filler
opening (13/4).
8. Fill with new oil (SAE 15W-40, fill volume: 0.5 l)
Filling with engine oil (04).
9. Check that the level has reached the MAX
(10/3) mark.
10. Insert the oil dipstick and screw tight.
11. Remove any spilled oil.
7.4. SERvICING THE SpARk pLUG (02, 09)
Prescribed spark plug type: TORCH F6RTC
IMPORTANT! Danger of engine damage. Operating
the engine with the incorrect spark plug or without a
spark plug will result in serious engine damage!
• Always use the specified spark plug type.
• Never try to start the engine without a spark plug.
1. Unscrew the spark plug (02/1) or (09/1) using a
socket wrench.
2. Clean the electrodes (02/2) or (09/2) using a metal
brush and remove any soot deposits.
3. Check the correct electrode gap with a feeler
gauge.
Note: The electrode gap of the spark plug should be
0.6 mm – 0.8 mm.
4. Reinsert the spark plug and tighten with a socket
wrench.

WARNING! Risk of injury from electric shock.
Checking the ignition spark with the spark plug
removed may result in serious injury from electric
shock and fire.
• Never check the ignition spark function with the
spark plug removed. Use an ignition spark tester
instead.

7.5. CLEANING THE ENGINE

WARNING! Danger of explosion and fire. Foreign
objects on the engine can cause the lawnmower to
catch fire. Fire can lead to serious injuries.
• Remove combustible debris (e.g. grass, leaves,
grease) from the engine, especially from the
exhaust and cylinder area.
• Check and clean the exhaust and cylinder area
regularly.
IMPORTANT! Danger from water. Penetrating
water (ignition system, carburettor...) can lead to
malfunctions.
• Do not spray the engine with water.
1. Allow the engine to cool before cleaning.
2. Remove the contamination regularly from the
engine with a cleaning cloth or brush.
3. Blow-off all waste and dirt residues from the
silencer and its cover using compressed air.
4. Clean the cooling system:
• Remove obstructions from cooling air openings.
• In order to prevent overheating, also clean the
internal cooling vanes and surfaces.
5. Wipe plastic parts with a damp sponge and
detergent.

7.6. CARBURETTOR SETTINGS
NOTE The carburettor must only be adjusted
by an authorised service workshop.
7.7. MAINTENANCE SCHEDULE
The following jobs are allowed to be carried out by the
user independently. All other maintenance, service and
repair work must be carried out in an authorised service
workshop. In addition, please also comply with the
recommended annual lubrication tasks as indicated in the
lubrication plan.
NOTE Shorter maintenance intervals than those stated
in the table below may be necessary in case of severe
loading and high temperatures.

8. HELp IN CASE OF MALFUNCTION

CAUTION! Risk of injury. Sharp-edged
and moving appliance parts can lead to injury.
• Always wear protective gloves during maintenance,
care and cleaning work.
NOTE For malfunctions that are not listed in this
table or that you cannot resolve yourself, please
contact our customer service.

9. TRANSpORT

• Transport the engine only when the fuel tank is
empty.
• Always transport the engine horizontally, otherwise
the following will occur:
• Leaking fuel and oil
• Generation of smoke
• Starting difficulties
• Soot on spark plug
10. STORAGE
NOTE Observe the operating instructions
for the lawnmower.
WARNING! Danger of explosion and fire. Petrol and
oil are highly flammable. Fire can lead to serious
injuries.
• Do not store the appliance close to naked flames or
sources of heat.
• Do not store the appliance in a room in which
electric tools are operated. If the lawnmower is not
used for a long time (longer than 2 to 3 months),
the fuel must be drained off to avoid deposits in
the fuel system. With a shorter idle period, the fuel
can be protected with a fuel stabiliser.
NOTE For further information: Ask your customer
service.
1. Drain the fuel tank.
2. To remove the fuel from the carburettor: Start
the engine outdoors and let it run until it stops.
3. Allow the engine to cool down.
4. Clean the engine.
5. Storing the engine:
• Store the engine in a well ventilated location, and
not in the vicinity of naked flames or sources of
heat.
• Do not store the engine where electric motors or
power tools are operated.
• Store protected from moisture.
