18. Disposal

a) General Information
Electrical and electronic products must not be disposed of in the household waste.
Dispose of the useless product according to the applicable statutory provisions at
the end of its service life.
Remove possibly inserted batteries and dispose of them separately.
b) Batteries and Rechargeable Batteries
You as end user are required by law (battery ordinance) to return all used batteries and
rechargeable batteries; disposal in the household waste is forbidden!
Batteries/rechargeable batteries are marked with the adjacent symbols that indi-
cate the prohibition of disposal via household waste.
The designations for the relevant heavy metals are: Cd=cadmium, Hg=mercury,
Pb=lead (designation is written on the battery/rechargeable battery, e.g. below the
waste bin symbols indicated on the left).
You can return your flat batteries/rechargeable batteries at the collection points of
your municipality, our branches and anywhere where batteries/rechargeable bat-
teries are sold!
They therefore meet the statutory obligations and contribute to environmental protection.
