7.7 Connection of the Ethernet
cable
During the wiring do not connect cable RS-
485 and the video cable.
Use of Ethernet cables with the following
characteristics is highly recommended:
• STP (shielded)
• Category 5E (or higher)
Use a shielded RJ45 connector on both ends of the
cable. The Ethernet cable shield on the operator side
must always be earthed via the connector.
Carry out the connections as described in the table
(according to the standard specifications: TIA/EIA-
568-B).
Connect the Ethernet cable to the RJ45 connector (
7.4 Connector board description, page 18).

7.8 Alarm and relay connections

Identify the relay and alarm terminal and the serial
line terminal on the board (J3, J9, 7.4 Connector
board description, page 18).
Use a shielded cable to carry out the connection.
Connect the shield to the COM on the Pan & Tilt side
and to the earth on the operator side.
The unit is equipped with the alarms and relays
indicated in the table.

The maximum length of the alarm cables is as
follows: 200m (656ft). Use cables with the following
characteristics: shielded cable, minimum diameter
0.25mm² (23AWG).
• Slide the cables through the entry device.
• Take the J3 removable female connector from the
connectors board and connect the alarm wires to
it.
• Plug the cabled connector to J3 plug.
