In modes 3 and 4, the rechargeable battery to be charged must never be connected to vehicle electron-
ics during charging. Before using these charging programmes, the rechargeable battery to be charged
must be disconnected from the vehicle electronics. Otherwise, there is a risk of damage to the vehicle
electronics.
When using charging programmes mode 3 and 4 with rechargeable batteries with liquid electrolyte, check
the electrolyte level after charging, since the high charging voltage in this charging programme may
cause gassing out and thus liquid loss.
e) Mode 5
Mode 5 (fig. 2, item 1) is a normal charging programme for 12 V rechargeable batteries with a higher rechargeable
battery capacity. The charge end voltage is 14.4 V, the maximum charging current is 5.0 A. Mode 1 is suitable for
rechargeable battery capacities between 14 Ah and 120 Ah of the types lead-gel, lead-acid or lead-fleece, AMG and
calcium.
f) Mode 6
In addition to mode 5, the "snowflake icon" (fig. 2, item 2) can be acti-
vated (LED lights up additionally). In this case, the charge programme
mode 5 is expanded specifically for rechargeable batteries of the type
AGM. Mode 6 can also be used for low environmental temperatures
(below freezing) when charging batteries of the types lead-gel, lead-
acid or lead-fleece. The charge end voltage is 14.7 V, the maximum
charging current is 5.0 A. Mode 6 is suitable for rechargeable battery
capacities between 14 Ah and 120 Ah.
g) Mode 7
In addition to mode 5, "BOOST" (fig. 2, item 3) can be activated (LED lights up additionally). In this case, the charg-
ing programme mode 5 is expanded for charging deep-discharged rechargeable batteries of the types lead-gel,
lead-acid or lead-fleece. The maximum charging current to the rechargeable battery voltage of 14.7 V is 5.0 A, and
from 14.7 V to 16.0 V is 1.5 A. Mode 7 is suitable for rechargeable battery capacities between 14 Ah and 120 Ah.
We recommend using this charging programme once per year.
h) Mode 8
The charging programme mode 8 is activated when the LEDs fig. 2, items 1 + 2 + 3 are lit. In this case, the charge
programme mode 5 is expanded for charging deep-discharged rechargeable batteries of the types lead-gel, lead-
acid or lead-fleece for charging at low environmental temperatures (below freezing). The charge end voltage is
16.0 V. The maximum charging current to the rechargeable battery voltage of 14.7 V is 5.0 A, and from 14.7 V to
16.0 V is 1.5 A. Mode 8 is suitable for rechargeable battery capacities between 14 Ah and 120 Ah.
In modes 7 and 8, the rechargeable battery to be charged must never be connected to vehicle electron-
ics during charging. Before using these charging programmes, the rechargeable battery to be charged
must be disconnected from the vehicle electronics. Otherwise, there is a risk of damage to the vehicle
electronics.
When using charging programmes mode 7 and 8 with rechargeable batteries with liquid electrolyte, check
the electrolyte level after charging, since the high charging voltage in this charging programme may
cause gassing out and thus liquid loss.
