c) Use the button "Mode" (fig. 3, item 5) at the charger to select the matching charging programme (modes 1 to 8).
For this, push the button "Mode" repeatedly until the desired condition is reached.
d) If the rechargeable battery is connected in the proper polarity, not defective (high-ohmic/interrupted) and the
mains supply is ensured, charging will start after a few seconds. Depending on the charge condition of the con-
nected rechargeable battery and its condition (e.g. rechargeable battery old or new, rechargeable battery flat,
etc.), the LEDs will flash or be lit and indicate charging progress (see following chapter 8. LED Displays when
Charging).
Charging takes different amounts of time. For a large rechargeable battery with a capacity of, e.g., 120 Ah,
charging may take more than one day depending on the condition of the rechargeable battery (rechargeable
battery is old or new, rechargeable battery is flat or deep-discharged, etc.)
e) End charging when LED 7 "Battery full" (see fig. 4) remains lit. For this, remove the rechargeable battery from
the charger and then pull the mains plug out of the mains socket.
