Tips for cooking tasty rice
Choose rice of good
quality and
store it in a
cool place
Choose freshly milled, fine,
uniform, and glossy rice. Store rice
in an airy, cool, and dark place.
Measure rice correctly
using the
supplied
measuring cup
(1 cup is about 5.29 oz / 150 g)
Wash rice quickly
Wash rice repeatedly by stirring in and pouring out water.
Do so until water becomes clear, but be sure to do so
quickly so rice does not soak for too long.
Choose the [Plain] key
when cooking rice with
barley, multigrain rice,
undermilled rice, germ rice,
or sprouted brown rice
z Compared to plain rice, the rice might become scorched.
z When cooking millet together with plain rice, put the
millet on top of the plain rice.
If they are mixed, they may not be finely cooked.
Maximum amount of plain rice and multigrain:
1.0 L type cooker: 5.5 cups
1.8 L type cooker: 10 cups
z When cooking millet together with brown rice, choose
the [Brown] key and put the millet on top of the brown
rice. If they are mixed, they may not be thoroughly
cooked. Maximum amount of brown rice and multigrain:
1.0 L type cooker: 3.5 cups
1.8 L type cooker: 6 cups

* When you add/reduce water to/from the standard scale
level, do not add/reduce more than 1/3 of each scale.
* Adjust the water amount using the "Plain" scale when
cooking germ rice, rice with barley, sprouted brown
rice, undermilled rice, or multigrain rice.
* If there is any guide on water adjustment on the bag
of store-bought sprouted brown rice or multigrain rice,
follow the guide and add/reduce some water to make it
fit for your taste.
When cooking rice with
other ingredients
2.5 oz / 70 g or less of ingredients can be used with each
cup of rice. While seasonings should be mixed well with
rice, the ingredients should just be put on the rice. Be
sure to follow the guide of maximum amount for cooking
with ingredients (below table).
