regulator, installed after the first stage regulator, reducing
5 -10 PSIG down to the low pressure required at the gas
inlet of the heater.
Propane tanks are typically delivered with a first stage
regulator already connected to the tank valve by the
propane gas supplier. If delivered with the first stage
regulator, ensure that the regulator is preset to deliver an
outlet pressure of 5 to 10 PSIG, and is rated to supply
the proper capacity to meet the demand of the heater
(1,000,000 btuh /293 kW)
If the tank does not have the first stage regulator supplied,
order part number 550-132235, This regulator includes a
pigtail with bushing, and will reduce tank pressure to 10
PSIG.
The second stage regulator, part number 500-132046, will
reduce the high pressure to low pressure (13.5 in. W.C.)
required at the heater's gas inlet.

Boss 1000.

Depending on installations using longer runs of gas hose,
the second stage regulator may be located further down-
stream from the tank to ensure proper gas pressure to the
heater. Always ensure regulators are protected by a cover.
Connecting the Heater to
the Electrical Supply
Connect the three- prong power cord to an approved 120
VAC, 60 cycle, 1 phase, 15-amp electrical supply, consist-
ing of a ground circuit with proper electrical polarity.
The heater must have a properly grounded electrical sup-
ply, otherwise the ignition control will not be able to prove
flame. The heater will cycle on/off and
eventually shut-down.
A digital voltage meter is located on the control panel
to assist the user in identifying if proper voltage is
supplied to the heater during operation. Observe the
voltage meter during start-up and operation to ensure
the heater is receiving the proper voltage (120 VAC)
during operation.
