Other Connections
Other TV connections
There are three different kinds of video
output that you can use to connect this
system to your TV. The S-video and compo-
nent (US model) or SCART (European model)
outputs should all give you better picture
quality than using the standard composite
video output.
Using the S-video output
•
Use a commercially available S-video
cable to connect the S-VIDEO OUT to an
S-video input on your TV.
(illustration shows European model)
• The S-video output is switchable
between S1 and S2 formats. See page
61 for more on this.
Using the SCART AV output
(European model only)
The SCART AV connector functions as both a
video and audio output.
•
Use a commercially available SCART
cable to connect the AV CONNECTOR
output to your TV.
• SCART cables are available in several
configurations. Make sure that the one
you get will work with this player and
your TV/monitor. You can find the pin
assignments on page 81.
• See AV Connector Out on page 60 for
how to change the SCART video output
format for the DVD/CD function.
• See page 74 for how to change the
SCART video output format to match the
VIDEO 1, 2 and 3 inputs.
