Accessories

Observe the installation and deployment information in the accompanying IFUs of the
respective accessories.
The following accessories are on offer for the Dräger PIR 7000 / Dräger PIR 7200 gas transmitter:

Duct Mount Set PIR 7000 Can be used to monitor concentration levels in pipe lines.

Splash Guard PIR 7000 / 7200 Can be used to protect the optical system against water
Part No. 68 11 911 and dirt. Only to be used with status indicator, Flowcell or
Part No. 68 11 912 remote test adapter.
Insect Guard PIR 7000 Can be used to keep insects out of the inner gasline within
Part No. 68 11 609 the splash guard. Only to be used in combination with the
splash guard.
Hydrophobic Filter PIR 7000 Used as water-repellent filter to protect the optical system
Part No. 68 11 890 against dust and drops of liquid. Only to be used with sta-
tus indicator, Flowcell or remote test adapter.
Calibration Adapter PIR 7000 Can be used to apply test gas to gas transmitters with
Part No. 68 11 610 splash guard. Not to be used with gas transmitters that
have a process adapter or a process cuvette.
Status Indicator PIR 7000 / 7200 Can be used to visualise the green and yellow signals of
Part No. 68 11 625 the gas transmitter's status lights on two opposing sides of
Part No. 68 11 920 the status indicator.
Flowcell PIR 7000 / 7200 Can be used on the gas transmitter for functional check or
Part No. 68 11 490 adjusting / calibrating. Can be used to visualise the green
Part No. 68 11 910 and yellow signals of the Flowcell's status lights on two
Flowcell PIR 7000 Duct opposing sides of the status display.

Bump Test Adapter Can be used for a qualitative functional check when the air

USB PC Adapter PIR 7000 Can be used to establish communication between the gas
Part No. 68 11 663 transmitter and a computer running Dräger CC Vision GDS
software.
Junction Box Ex e PIR 7000 Can be used for electrical connection of the gas transmit-
Part No. 68 11 898 ter Dräger PIR 7000 / 7200 with M25 threaded connection
to warrant the "Increased Safety" (Ex e) type of explosion
protection.

Operation
Commissioning
The gas transmitter is set on delivery in accordance to the details in the table "Configuration of
the gas transmitter" on page 19 or built-to-order (if requested). The configuration is shown on
the device label. The device has been factory-calibrated, so after finishing the electrical instal-
lation, the device is ready to operate.
To avoid false alarms, the alarm activation at the central device is to be locked.

Supply the system with power. The gas transmitter runs an internal self-test
z
the status indicator's lights flash alternately for a short time. During the following warm-up
phase (warm-up time), the green status light is on and the yellow status light flashes. After
1 minute, operation begins using the configuration that was set upon delivery.
Check the zero-point and the sensitivity.

Check signal transmission to central device and alarm activation.
z
Unlock the alarm activation at the central device to put the system back to normal operating
z
mode.
Safety Integrity Level
– The gas transmitter is suitable for use in SIL 2 applications.
For applications with Safety Integrity Level (SIL) and any other configuration (when applica-
ble), observe the technical handbook.
Measuring mode
The gas transmitter generates a 4 to 20 mA signal, proportional to the measured gas concen-
tration, when the gas transmitter is configured for analogue signal transmission.

Fault messages are issued with a higher priority than warning messages. Warning messages
are issued with a higher priority than measured values.

Maintenance intervals
Observe EN 50073 and respective national regulations.
Daily
Visual inspection to determine readiness for operation – the green status light lights up.

While commissioning
Check the function of the yellow and green status lights while the automatic self-test is run-

ning.
Check zero-point calibration.

Check the current interface and if required also the HART communication.
