Operation
Commissioning
The gas transmitter is set on delivery in accordance with the details in the table "Configuration
of the gas transmitter" on page 25 or built to order (if requested). The configuration is shown
on the device label.
The relevant configuration parameters (see table "Configuration of the gas transmitter" on
page 25) must be correctly entered on the configuration label. When used in conjunction with a
Dräger Polytron 57x0 / 87x0, Dräger recommends that the enclosed label (part no. 68 13 286)
is stuck over the existing configuration label.
The device has been factory-calibrated, so after finishing the electrical installation, the device
is ready to operate.
To avoid false alarms, the alarm activation at the central device is to be locked.
Supply the system with power. The gas transmitter runs an internal self-test during which the
status lights flash alternately for a short time. During the following warm-up phase (warm-up
time), the green status light is on and the yellow status light flashes. The maintenance signal
is emitted on the power interface. After 1 minute, operation begins using the configuration
that was set upon delivery.
Check the zero-point and the sensitivity.
Check signal transmission to central device and alarm activation.
Unlock the alarm activation at the central device to put the system back to normal operating
mode.
Safety Integrity Level
– The gas transmitter is suitable for use in SIL 2 applications.
For applications with Safety Integrity Level (SIL), observe the Safety Manual (90 33 034).
