7. Maintenance / servicing
CAUTION
Backwashing can be manually started by operating the external pushbutton,
which can also be used to check the "backwash" cycle.
The unit has to be completely drained when frost threatens to avoid downti-
mes caused by freezing.
8. Malfunctions
CAUTION
8.1 If leaks are detected in the sewer pipe during the "filter" cycle, initiate a "back-
wash" cycle as a first measure. Dirt particles may have accumulated on the
gasket. If this does not work, remove the top section, check the insert and the
casing and replace the defective part.
8.2 If water escapes between the valve flap and the black bottom section of the ca-
sing, either the shaft of the insert or the cover is leaking. In this case, the com-
plete top section has to be replaced.
CAUTION
Do not seal the lateral openings. They must remain open for the water to drain.
8.3 When replacing the top section, make sure the new top section is correctly
mounted by observing the position of the cams on casing and cover.
