5.1 Mechanical installation

· Make sure that the device is fitted
free of mechanical stress and
distortion
· Fasten the ADNE−LAS.
· Select the corresponding
accessories from our catalogue
www.festo.com/catalogue
· Note the maximum permissible
tightening torque for the fastening
screws of 9.9 Nm (M6).
· Tighten the mounting screws evenly.

5.2 Installing the effective load

· Place the centre of gravity of the effective load as close as possible to the centre
of the piston rod.
· Move the piston rod into the retracted end position.
· Fasten the effective load to the retracted piston rod.
· Use the following elements:
only the thread of the piston rod.
the double flat 6 on the piston
rod as counterholder (only in the
retracted end position).
a compensating element that is
backlash−free in an axial direction.
This will prevent lateral loads on
the piston rod.

5.3 Electrical installation

Note
· Observe the warnings and instructions for electrical installation in the
description of the CMFL end−position controller.
· Make sure that the end−position controller is switched off.
It is not sufficient just to cancel the enable signal to the end−position controller.
· Wire the ADNE−LAS to the connection
4 with the end−position controller.
Additional earthing of the ADNE−LAS
is not necessary.
· Use the original connecting cable
from Festo in accordance with the
Accessories chapter.

5.4 Installing circuitry

Note
If used in safety−relevant applications, additional measures are necessary. In
Europe, for example, the standards in the EC machinery directive must be
observed.
Without additional measures in accordance with statutory minimum
requirements, the product is not suitable for use in safety−related sections of
control systems.

Warning
Moving masses can cause personal
injury and material damage
(crushing).
· Make sure that, in the positioning
area:
nobody can place his/her hand in
the path of the moving parts
(e.g. through a protective grill)
there are no foreign objects.
It should not be possible to touch
the ADNE−LAS until the mass has
come to complete rest.
· Read the warnings and instructions in the description of the CMFL end−position
controller.
1. Start the teach" procedure (è description on the CMFL end−position
controller).
After completion of the teach" procedure, the LED on the CMFL lights up green.
6
2. Check in normal operation whether the ADNE−LAS fulfils the following
requirements:
The piston rod must move through the complete intended positioning cycle.
The piston rod stops as soon as it reaches the desired end stop.
Acceleration and braking in the end positions is automatically adapted to the
load.
Deviations in positioning accuracy or overshooting of the system could be
caused by the following:
applied load too high
mechanical structure tends to vibrate.

there are no foreign objects.
It must not be possible to touch the ADNE−LAS until the mass has come to rest
completely.
If there is a change in the effective load:
· Repeat the teach procedure.
If the stroke is shortened:
· Check the following points:
The external stop must be carried out with cushioning (preferably an
elastomer buffer).
The stroke may only be shortened at one end (minimum stroke è chapter
Technical data").
The positioning time is not reduced by shortening the stroke.
8
Service and maintenance
Warning
Signals from the controller can cause inadvertent movements of the ADNE−LAS.
· Switch off the controller for all work on the ADNE−LAS and protect it from
being switched on again unintentionally.
Note
Modules may be damaged if they are not handled correctly.
· Observe the handling specifications for electrostatically sensitive devices.
