● Check play on the steering linkage (see image 37): the
steering input of the handlebar needs to be transferred to
the front wheels. This action is provided for by the steering
linkage. Six ball joints connect the steering column to the
front wheels

A malfunctioning steering linkage during cycling may lead
to loss of control of the bike. This can potentially be fatal.
Always contact your Urban Arrow dealer in case the steering
linkage feels loose or encounters excessive resistance. Never
continue to ride the bike when there is no response from the
front wheel after you give steering input.

● Check the rear wheel for damaged and/or loose spokes.
● Check the brake hoses for damage and check if it doesn't
come in contact with moving parts.
● Check the chain tension:
a. When you have a chain drive: wiggle the chain glider case
so you can hear and feel whether the chain is still tight or
not.
b. When you have a drive belt: the tension can be measured
with the Gates Carbon Drive Mobile Apps, offered on both
iPhone and Android. These apps can measure the belt
tension in the form of natural frequency (Hz) of the belt
span. Operating instructions are provided within each app.
The belt tension for your Urban Arrow should be between
35 Hz and 50 Hz.
● Check the lock rubbers for tears and/or cracks (see 'R' in
image 38): damaged lock rubbers may cause the ring lock to
(partly) come off the bike frame. Lock rubbers give the lock a
certain fl exibility to prevent a spoke from breaking in case you
release the bike from the parking brake while being locked.
Contact your Urban Arrow dealer to replace the damaged lock
rubber(s) by a new one.
