NOTE
Ergopower™ control levers are fitted with
a pushbutton (A - Fig. 31) which holds
your brakes in the wide open position to
facilitate wheel maintenance.
5 . REMOVAL
• Remove the rear derailleur (or front
derailleur) and the brake cables from
the Ergopower™ control lever.
• Raise the support cover (A - Fig. 2
- Page 23) to expose the Allen retaining
screw (B - Fig. 2 - Page 23).
• The Ergopower™ control lever can
be removed leaving the band on the
handlebar, thereby avoiding the need
to untape the handlebar..
• Unscrew the securing screw (B - Fig.
2 - Page 23) with a 5 mm Allen wrench
and lift the Ergopower™ control lever
off the handlebar.

• Shift to the lowest gear (Fig. 32).
• Detach the Ergopower lever using a 5 mm
allen key (see Section 5 "Removal").
• Remove the plastic cover located at the
bottom of the body (Fig. 33).
• Note that the position of the rotary-ring (A
- Fig. 34) should be as illustrated.
•The interface sensor with the black rotary-ring
is for the left lever, the interface sensor with the
white ring (9s) or the red ring (10s) are for the
right lever.
• Carefully insert the interface sensor into the
lever, pushing gently on the main part of the
insert and on the upper appendix at the same
time. Be sure that you do not confuse the right
and the left inserts.

• Install the switch button onto the lever as
illustrated (Fig. 35). "DX" is for the right lever
and "SX" for the left.
In case you have installed it to the wrong side,
do not pull it out forcibly, but remove the inter-
face sensor first and push the button inward.
• Reinstall the Ergopower lever to your han-
dlebar.

• Remove the interface sensor, then push the button inward.
8 . M A I N T E N A N C E
• Casings are supplied pre-lubricated and do not require any additional
lubrication.
•Ergopower™ control levers must be checked by a specialist mechanic every
3 years or every 30,000 Km (18,000 miles). The cables and casings must be
replaced every 2 years or after 20,000 Km (12,000 miles).
• In the event of competitive use, Ergopower™ control levers must be che-
cked by a specialist mechanic and cables and casings must be replaced
every year or every 15,000 Km (9,000 miles).
• Periods and riding distances are purely indicative and may be significantly
different in relation to conditions of use and the intensity of your activity (for
example: racing, rain, salted Winter roads, weight of the rider etc.). Check
with your mechanic to select a schedule that is best for you based on your
size, riding conditions and you riding style.
• Water and dirt are the most frequent causes of components damage.
Please keep your bicycle and all its components clean and dry.
