winding crown
The winding crown is used to wind the watch
(position 1) and to set the time (position 2).
manual winding
Crown pushed in: To wind the movement.
Power reserve with the chronograph disengaged:
min. 65 hours
We recommend that you wind your watch at about
the same time every day, preferably in the morn-
ing. Please take off your watch when you wind it.
This will prevent lateral pressure on the winding
stem that in the course of the years could damage
the stem tube.
dynamometric winding crown
Patek Philippe has equipped your watch with a
dynamometric winding crown that eliminates
any risk of damage to or failure of the winding
mechanism when the watch has reached the fully
wound state.
When you turn the crown, you will notice a series
of delicate clicks as soon as the mainspring is fully
wound. These clicks are normal; they simply indi-
cate that further winding is no longer necessary.
setting the time
To set the time, pull the crown all the way out and
turn it in either direction. When the correct time
is set, push the crown home again.
