4. START-UP PROCEDURE

4.1 Adjustment: manual

4.1.1 Manual adjustment

The knob is used to manually adjust the slide.

4.2 Starting

1. Press and hold the On/Off button for 2 seconds to switch on the in-
strument. All segments will light up on activation.
To switch off the instrument, press and hold the same button until
the instrument is deactivated.
2. After activation, the instrument will request reference positioning.
Using the knob, slowly have the measuring slide move over the mark
of the reference position (the reference position is accepted by mo-
ving the slide upwards). An acoustic signal confirms the acceptance
of the reference position and the display unit will begin counting.
Repeat the procedure if the display unit has not begun counting.
3. In order to compensate for the dimension and deflection of the
measuring insert when making downward or upward measurements
(swapped sides, diameters) , the instrument will request receiving the
constant for the measuring insert. The value of the most recent mea-
sured constant is indicated.
Comment 1:
This measurement sequence can be interrupted by pressing the
button or the function key. The most recently determined probe con-
stant value is taken into account for the measurements.
Comment 2:
The starting mode can vary according to the instrument configurati-
on (Chapter 9).
