7.4 Setting the Operating Modes

The function buttons and the display (1, 2, 3 and 4) set the operating mode.

Automatic operation

Press the button MODE (1) until the display (4) shows "A" as first digit. "A" means that the device is in automatic
mode.
In this mode, the device generates different pre-set light effects that can be switched on in 10 different speeds.
The speeds are set with the buttons UP (2) and DOWN (3).
In this operating mode, the device does not react to signals pending at the DMX IN (5) connection but
generates the corresponding DMX signals depending on the function selected on the DMX channels
001-003 at the DMX OUT (6) connection.
Signals are also generated on the DMX channels 004-006, offset from the signals on channels
001-003 by two light scenes.
This makes it possible to control devices connected to DMX OUT (6) and encoded as slave devices
synchronously or offset by 2 light scenes (on this, see the chapter "Slave Operation" farther back in this
manual).
The last speed set is stored even if this operating mode is left in between or the effect light is switched
off.

Sound-to-light mode

Press the button MODE (1) until the display (4) shows "S2L". "S2L" means that the device is in sound-to-light
operation.
In this operating mode, different pre-set effect lights are called in sequence. Switching through these effect lights
is achieved by audio signals recorded through the integrated microphone. The light patterns are switched in time
to the music.
In this operating mode, the buttons UP (2) and DOWN (3) are deactivated and the device will not react
to any signals applied to the connection DMX IN (5).
However, depending on the light series currently played back, it generates DMX signals on the DMX
channels 001-003 at the connection DMX OUT (6). Signals are also generated on the DMX channels
004-006, offset from the signals on channels 001-003 by two light scenes.
This makes it possible to control devices connected to DMX OUT (6) and encoded as slave devices
synchronously or offset by 2 light scenes (on this, see the chapter "Slave Operation" farther back in this
manual).
