Exchange of the SQlab pedals on Pedelec25
Ebikes and pedelecs with CE mark and pedal assistance up to 25 km/h are covered by the Machinery Directive, therefore components of
these bicycles may not be easily exchanged or modified. In order to clarify the situation, a guideline for replacing Ebike/Pedelec 25 parts
has been jointly released by the associations ZweradIndustrieVerband (ZIV) and Verbund Service und Fahrrad (VSF) in cooperation with
the ZedlerInstitut and the Bundesinnungs band Fahrrad (BIV).
The guideline clearly regulates which bicycle dealers and workshops are allowed to replace parts on these vehicles and for which parts
they require approval from vehicle manufacturers or system suppliers. As such, it can be regarded as a recommended course of action.
Replacement of the SQlab Pedals on Pedelec25 is possible based on the recommendation „Guidelines for the re placement of compo
nents in CEmarked ebikes/pedelecs with pedal assistance up to 25 km/h" of the associations ZweiradIndus trieVerband (ZIV ) and
Verbund Service und Fahrrad (VSF) in cooperation with the ZedlerInstitut and the Bundesinnungsverband Fahrrad (BIV),as far as the
pedal is not wider than the stock/original pedal and the approved reflectors are fitted.
On our website www.sq-lab.com/service/downloads/ in the service area under Downloads you will find a document called eBike Ready.
There you will find detailed information about the component exchange on Pedelec25, as well as the guide for the component exchange
made by the associations ZweiradIndustrieVerband (ZIV), Verbund Service und Fahrrad (VSF), the Zedler Institute and the Bundesin
nungsverband Fahrrad (BIV).
