Grease the pedal threads and check the bearing for proper function (a). The pedal axle must be able rotate freely.
To mount the right pedal, place it straight on the outside of the right crank. Now screw the pedal with a torque of 35 Nm 40 Nm clockwise
into the thread of the crank arm (b).
Now place the left pedal straight on the outside of the left crank. Screw the pedal with the indicated torque counterclockwise into the
thread of the crank arm. Tightening torque: 35 Nm 40 Nm.
Warning
Make absolutely sure that the left pedal is screwed into the left crank arm and the right pedal into the right crank arm. On the pedal
axles there is an „R" or an „L", in order to be able to clearly assign the pedals. The pedals have different threads so that the pedal
is tightened by the pedalling movement. The attempt to mount the pedals on the wrong side can cause irreversible damage to the
thread of the crank.
Warning
Even a short ride with an improperly tightened pedal can cause damage to the threads of the pedal axle and the crank. Under certain
circumstances, the pedal can become detached from the crank, resulting in loss of control of the bike this can result in a crash with
corresponding injuries.
