Ch e ck al l cabl e s and m ak e s ure t h at th e y are conne ct e d t o l ine -out
or audio-out j ack on your sound card or oth e r audio source , and NOT
s p e a k e r-out. If your audio source is your comput e r, ch e ck t h e v ol u m e
control in Windows: mak e s u r e t h at it is not s e t m o r e t h an h al f way.
S e t t ing t h i s l e v e l too h igh can cause s ound distorti o n. If th is doe s not
s top th e noise, unpl ug th e cabl e from t h e audio source and us e an
al t e rnat e s ource (e.g., Wal k m an, Discm an or FM radio) by pl ugging t h e
s t e r e o cabl e into th e h e adph one j ack . I f t h e noise goe s away, you m a y
h av e a probl e m w i t h your audio source .

. Mov e t h e p o w e r cord from t h e p o w e r s u rge prote ctor (if appl icabl e )
and pl ug dire ctl y into an AC wal l outl e t. Move your cabl e s and ch e ck to
s e e t h at th e y are making a good connect ion. I f you dis conne ct your
s t e re o cabl e f r o m t h e audio source and t h e l oud h um goes away, t h e n
you m ay ne e d to adj u s t t h e vol um e control in your audio source as you
m ay be ove r dr iv ing t h e v ol um e s e ttings on your s pe ak e r s ys t e m . If you
are us ing your 641 s pe ak e rs w i t h your com pute r s ys t e m , jus t cl ick on
t h e s p e ak e r icon l ocat e d ne xt t o th e digit al cl ock to th e l o w e r r igh t of
your W indows 9X or 2000 screen and adj u s t t h e vol um e .

. Th e Subwoof e r is not m a g n e t ical l y s h i e l de d, and t h is can cause
distortion if it is l e s s t h an 3 f e e t from your m onitor.
