CAUTION
When the cardan shaft is fully extended, the two tubes must
overlap by at least 15 cm.
When fully inserted, the minimum play must be 4 cm. (fi g.14).
CAUTION
If the implement is used on another tractor, always check the
before and that the guards copletely cover the rotating parts
of the cardan shaft.
Adjusting the cardan shaft with clutch
The cardan shaft can be equipped with safety clutch to protect
the transmission components of the machine from stress and/or
excessive overloads. The tilt of the cardan shaft must not exceed
10 degrees (fi g.4).
The clutch is already pre-adjusted for average stress. If it slips too
easily (and overheats), it will be necessary to evenly tighten all the
nuts (1 fi g.19) that retain the springs.
If the supplied cardan shaft has a bolt-locked hub (2 fi g.19), check
that these bolts are fully tightened.
CAUTION
The clutch disks must be changed if the clutch still slips after
all the nuts have been tightened.
If the clutch does not slip, evenly unscrew all the spring fi xing nuts
(1 fi g.19). Unscrew one turn at a time and check the clutch after
having worked about 300 meters.
Repeat the operation if necessary, remembering to unscrew one
turn at a time. If the clutch maintains a temperature of about 40-50
degrees during work, this means that it has been correctly regulated.
Never fully torque the nuts since this would void the function of
the springs and, subsequently, of the clutch, thus damaging the
transmission components.
CAUTION
This inspection must be performed at the beginning of each
new working season.
Driveline with cam type torque limiter
This device protects the transmission components of the machine
from stress and excessive overloads.
Drive transmission actually stops in the case of an overload and is
automatically engaged again by reducing the rpm rate of the PTO.
CAUTION
Avoid frequent and lengthy overloads.
The driveline is supplied calibrated by the Manufacturer.
Do not tamper with the device if operational faults occur.
Contact the driveline supplier or a specialized center if nec-
essary.
