For large and heavy chimney breasts, the self-supporting frame must be
fastened on site. For this purpose, the connecting rod must be released
from the fireplace insert and secured to the body wall or on the ceiling. You
can use e.g., impact anchors in combination with links made of steel for
this, depending on the wall construction.
The alignment of the frame should be carried out using a spirit level.
During assembly and creating the chimney breast, take care that the sup-
porting frame and frame are not positioned lower than the door hood of the
fireplace insert. For cleaning purposes, check the ability to slide or pivot
the loading door. The loading door must be able to be moved freely
and open without resistance.
6.2 EXPANSION GAP BETWEEN THE CASING AND
THE FIREPLACE INSERT
There must be no direct connection between the fireplace insert and the
casing. An expansion joint must be provided and sealed by means of an
appropriate sealing strip. Please note that there must be a minimum dis-
tance of 6 mm between the door frame and the fireplace hood/installation
frame in order to be able to disassemble the fireplace insert door if neces-
sary (e.g. replace the pane).
