7. TROUBLESHOOTING

PROBLEM
1.    W ith the key at «ON» the
dashboard remains off with no
audible signal
2.    W ith the key at «ON» the
dashboard remainsoff, but there
is an audible signal
3.    W ith the key on «START» the
dashboard comes on but the
starter motor does not run
4.    W ith the key on «START» the
starter motor runs but the engine
does not start
5.    S tarting is difficult or the engine
runs erratically
6.    W eak engine performance
during cutting
7.    E ngine stops when cutting
means are engaged
8.    T he battery warning light does
not turn off after a few minutes'
work
9.    T he oil warning light comes on
while working(if fitted)
10. The engine stops and an
audible signal is heard
11.    T he engine stops with no
audible warning
LIKELY CAUSE
The safety device of the electronic
circuit board has cut in due to:
–    b adly connected battery
–    b attery terminals crossed
–    fl at battery
–    f use blown
The safety device of the electronic
circuit board has cut in due to:
–    w et circuit board
–    i nsufficiently charged battery
–    b attery charger fuse blown
–    i nsufficiently charged battery
–    f aulty fuel supply
–    f aulty ignition
– fault in carburetion
–    f orward speed too high in relation
to cutting height
–    y ou are not ready to engage the
blade
–    r echarging of the battery
insufficient
–    p roblems in lubricating the
engine
The safety device of the electronic
circuit board has cut in due to:
–    o vervoltage caused by the
charge regulator
–    b adly connected battery (poor
contact)
–    d isconnected battery
–    p roblems in the engine

SOLUTION
Turn the ignition key to «OFF»
position and look for the cause of
the problem:
–    c heck connections (see 3.4)
–    c heck connections (see 3.4)
–    r echarge the battery  (see 6.2.3)
–    r eplace the fuse (10 A)
(see 6.3.5)
Turn the ignition key to the «OFF»
position
and look for the cause of the
problem:
–    d ry using tepid air
–    r echarge the battery  (see 6.2.3)
–    r eplace the fuse (25 A) (see
6.3.5)
–    r echarge battery (6.2.3)
–    c heck the level in the tank
 (see 5.3.3)
–    o pen the fuel stopcock (if fitted)
(see 5.4.1)
–    c heck the fuel filter
–    c heck that spark plug cap is
securely fitted
–    c heck that the electrodes are
clean and have the correct gap
–    c lean or replace the air filter
–    fl ush out the float chamber
–    e mpty the fuel tank and refill with
fresh fuel
–    c heck and replace the fuel filter if
necessary
–    r educe the forward speed and/or
raise the cutting height
(see 5.4.5)
–    c heck that all starting conditions
are met  (see 5.2.)
–    c ontact your dealer
–    T urn the key immediately to
«OFF»:
–    t op up the oil level (see 5.3.3)
–    r eplace the filter (if the problem
continues, contact your dealer)
Turn the ignition key to the «OFF»
position
and look for the cause of the
problem:
–    c ontact your dealer
–    c heck connections (see 3.4)
–    c heck connections (see 3.4)
