Danger if battery is not monitored during conservation charging.
This can result in serious injury and damage to property due to short circuits, arcs and
oxyhydrogen explosions.

The charger automatically switches to conservation charging once the battery is fully
charged. The fully charged battery symbol (4 bars) is constantly displayed during conser-
vation charging.
This allows the charger to be continuously connected to the battery without overcharging
the battery and without any additional energy costs.

WARNING!
Carry out a visual inspection at least once a week or as often as specified by the
battery manufacturer to ensure that the acid level in the battery is at the Max. mark.
If any of the following occur, do not start the device (or stop immediately if already in
use) and have the battery checked by an authorised workshop:
uneven acid levels and/or high water consumption in individual cells,
overheating of the battery above 55 °C (131 °F).
Only reconnect the battery to the vehicle power supply when:
The battery has been charging for at least one hour.
The battery is at least 50% charged (2 bars).
the power used over a long period is lower than the charging current
the charging period is longer and may therefore trigger a safety cut-out
Switch off engine and ignition, switch off all consumers
Switch on an interior lamp (approx. 2-15 W)
Set the selector switch to the correct position
Connect charging lead to the correct vehicle pole terminals
Connect charger to grid
