8. Mechanics Setup
Take the manufacturer's manual with the assembly sketches and start assembly of your model helicopter according to the
drawings starting on page P.2.
Page P.2
Upper figure:
The drawing shows the schematic setup of the main pinion with freewheel and the aluminium casing parts of the gear. The
components are pre-assembled ex works and do not have to be assembled.
Lower figure:
First install the holder for the tail boom (1-5), then screw the two chassis plates on according to the drawing. Please observe
that the two chassis plates are different and the screws have different lengths. Use threadlocker varnish for every screw
connection.
The two M3x18 screws are tightened firmly only after installation of the tailboom (see page P.10, lower figure).
Page P.3
Upper figure:
Install the landing gear according to the figure. The landing struts must be aligned towards the front in flight direction (also
see page P.4). Use three chassis plate connectors with a vertical bore without a thread for the screws M3x16 and the screw
M3x10 (see sketch A at the bottom right).
The two screws M3x16 and screw M3x10 are only tightened after attachment, alignment and screwing of the chassis to the
landing gear (see next figure).
Lower figure:
Place the chassis on the landing gear and screw on the unit. Use threadlocker varnish for every screw connection. The
chassis plate connectors in the front and rear areas must have a thread for the M3x6 countersunk screws. The front and rear
chassis plate must be turned so that the countersunk screws are flush with the surface.
Page P.4
Upper figure:
Insert the main gear and the spacer disc 8x13x2 in the mechanics and push the rotor shaft into the mechanics from above.
The bore with the lower distance to the shaft end must point down towards the main gear.
After connecting the rotor shaft to the main gear with the screw M3x16, push the collar onto the rotor shaft from above.
Secure the collar with two grub screws M3x3. The rotor shaft must not have any vertical play in the mechanics.
Lower figure:
Use the screws M2,6x10 to install the three swash plate servos and the tail servo in the intended positions according to
figures 1 to 3.
Important!
If your helicopter model was delivered with the servos, observe the precise type designation of the servos. For the
swash plate, three servos of the same type (e.g. GS 501) must be used, whereas the tail control requires a faster
servo (e.g. GS 502). The chassis has slots for clean cable placement through which cable ties can be pulled.
The gyro can be installed above the tailboom attachment. The receiver can be installed in the rear area of the chassis floor
plate, the speed controller in the front area.
