when cleaning the filter with compressed air!
Do not use fuel to clean the air filter.
Unhook the filter hood clips (1) with the combination tool and
remove the filter hood (2).
Pull out the choke (3) to prevent dirt particles from getting into
the carburetor.
Press together the clip (4) on both sides of the holder (5), unclip
it at the bottom and fold it up.
Remove the XD filter (6) and pull the felt prefilter (7) from the
XD filter.
Take the foam filter (8) out of the hood (2).
The filters must be cleaned regularly at least once weekly, and
immediately in the event of poor starting, poor performance, or
1
increased fuel consumption (replace if necessary).
2
XD filter: The XD filter (6) filters the incoming air through a
very fine system of paper fins. It must never be washed out
or cleaned with compressed air! Do not treat with air filter
oil.
Carefully tap out the XD filter against a clean surface.
Replace the XD filter every six months!
Caution: When using compressed air to clean the felt pre-
filter (7), the foam filter in the hood (8), always use protective
eyewear to prevent eye injury!

Do not clean the air filter with fuel!
Carefully clean the filters with compressed air, working from
inside to outside.
Caution: Excessive air pressure can destroy the filter. Replace
damaged filters immediately!
4
Felt prefilter (7): Carefully tap out, or carefully blow out from
9
5
the inside with compressed air. Do not use a brush for clean-
ing, since this can press dirt into the fabric. If the filter is very
3
dirty, wash it out in lukewarm water with regular dishwashing
liquid, and then let it dry thoroughly.
Replace the prefilter if cleaning does not result in any detect-
able improvement in performance. Replace the prefilter ev-
ery 3 months!
Foam filter in hood (8): Carefully blow out with compressed
air. If the filter is very dirty, wash it out in lukewarm water with
regular dishwashing liquid.
Push the felt prefilter (7) onto the XD air filter (6) and insert the
foam filter (8) into the filter hood (2).
Engage the clip (4) in the rear holder (9) in a vertical position,
place the air filter on the filter bottom, and swing the clip over
the filter base. Push the two ends of the clip together until it can
engage in the two retainers (5) on the filter bottom.
1
Make sure the air filter is firmly attached!
2
Push in the choke (3) and push the throttle all the way in to
deactivate the half-throttle lock.
Put on the filter hood (2) and hook in the clips (1).
