Inserting the batteries
The batteries are required for the display and other telephone functions.
Prior to inserting or replacing the batteries, ensure that the telephone
(base station) is disconnected from the telephone network!
The battery compartment is on the underside of
the telephone (base station). Open the battery
compartment and insert four AA 1.5V alkaline
batteries. Pay attention to correct polarity. Close
the battery compartment cover.
The telephone's memory content is retained for 3 minutes when no
batteries are installed.

Setting the display language

Select the language required. Refer to Page 179 for the sequence of menu option
selections.
M > EINSTELL BS > SPRACHE >..(M > BS SETUP > LANGUAGE >...)
There are 13 languages available for selection.

Setting the date and time

The time and date are set via the menu. Refer to Page 179 for the sequence of menu
option selections.

Private branch exchanges

The information on Page 203 explains how to install your telephone (base station) in a
private branch exchange.
