C - Synopsis of the AFF TOURING with one or two sensors

Most of the sound systems in large halls are designed with "Line Array" for the high Medium on
each side of the stage and Sub for the bass on the stage. This leads to to have higher bass levels in
the immediate area on the stage and more balanced bass levels further away from the stage.
The level in C-weighting will therefore be higher near the stage and more balanced in A-weighting
as you move away, also near the console.
With the synoptic below we can measure the level in C with a dedicated sensor to be placed near
the stage and a dedicated sensor for the level in A near the console.
The level in C will be measured at the place where the bass is predominant and the level in A where
it is representative.
The offsets (offset in + or - to correct the measurement) are two separate parameters for A and C
and can be adjusted independently of each other.
In the case of a live show with musicians, we will measure the C level on stage in real time. Very
important for the protection of the audience which is located closest to the show.
For the calibration of the installation it is enough to diffuse a "pink noise" on the sound system and
to measure with a sound level meter :
The C level near the stage where the closest audience will be and to adjust the offset for the

sensor C . As the sensor is very near this point, the offset will be low and if the level then
increases during the concert (musicians on stage), the measurement will follow this increase.
If there is a sub on each side of the stage, the sensor must be placed at an equal distance from
each sub for a summation in phase as perfect as possible.
The level in A by looking for a point where it is maximum in the room and adjust the offset for
