Return the portafilter handle to the left and carefully pull the portafilter out of the
brewing head. CAUTION: Portafilter, filter insert as well as brewing head
and especially the coffee dregs mixed with hot water are very hot! Be very
careful during removal, you could scald yourself!
Turn the portafilter 180 ° degrees and knock the coffee dregs out of the filter
insert. Please dispose of the coffee dregs in the household waste and do not pour
them down the drain, as this might clog up the wastewater pipes.
Carefully rinse the filter insert and the portafilter under running water. Dry both
parts with a paper towel.
Check regularly if the drip tray is full and has to be emptied to avoid overflowing
and damaging the base of the machine.

The steam / hot water wand should be cleaned after every time milk is
steamed.
Proceed as follows:
1. The appliance has to be plugged in and switched on with the ON/OFF button (1).
Once the yellow temperature lamp has gone out, point the steam / hot water
wand outwards and submerge it in a glass with water. Press the steam button (3)
and let steam escape for a few seconds: this removes potential milk residues in
the steam / hot water wand.
2. Press the steam button so that it is switched off. Swivel the steam / hot water
wand back to the original position and switch the machine off with the ON/OFF
button. Let the appliance cool down.
3. Wipe the outside of the steam / hot water wand clean with a moist towel.
4. Should the nozzle be blocked, push a needle into the nozzle opening. Should the
nozzle still be blocked, hold a glass of hot water under the nozzle and submerge
it to remove encrustations. Then, try again to remove the blocking with a needle.

1. Regularly let hot water run through the brewing group with the portafilter in-
serted, but empty (with inserted filter, but without ground coffee). This will flush
potential coffee powder remains from the brewing group.
2. Wash the portafilter and the filter inserts separately and by hand in warm dishwa-
ter and rinse everything under running water. Dry well afterwards.
3. Then, switch the appliance off and let it cool down completely.
4. Use the included cleaning brush (28) to remove sticky coffee remains when clean-
ing the brewing head.
5. Use a coin or a screw driver to clock wisely screw the brewing head out of the
brewing group. This allows for more thorough cleaning.
