12. DISPOSAL

a) General
Electronic devices are recyclable and should not be disposed of in household waste.
At the end of its service life, dispose of the product according to the relevant statutory regulations. Remove
any inserted battery and dispose of it separately from the product.
b) Batteries and Rechargeable Batteries
You as the end user are required by law (Battery Ordinance) to return all used batteries/rechargeable batteries.
Disposing of them in the household waste is prohibited!
Batteries/rechargeable batteries that contain any hazardous substances are labelled with the adjacent
icon to indicate that disposal in domestic waste is forbidden. The descriptions for the respective heavy
metals are: Cd=cadmium, Hg=mercury, Pb=lead (the names are indicated on the battery/rechargeable
battery e.g. below the rubbish bin symbol shown to the left).
You may return used batteries/rechargeable batteries free of charge at the official collection points in your com-
munity, in our stores, or wherever batteries/rechargeable batteries are sold.
You thus fulfil your statutory obligations and contribute to the protection of the environment.

13. TROUBLESHOOTING

In purchasing the DMM, you have acquired a product designed to the state of the art and operationally reli-
able. Nevertheless, problems or errors may occur.
For this reason, the following is a description of how you can easily remove possible malfunctions yourself:
Always observe the safety information!
Error
The multimeter does not
work.
No measured value change.
No measurement possible in
the 10A measurement range
No measurement possible
in the mA/µA measurement
range
Repairs other than those described above should only be carried out by an authorised specialist.

Possible cause
Is the battery dead?
Is the wrong measuring function
activated (AC/DC)?
Were the wrong measuring jacks
used?
Is the Hold function activated?
Is the fuse of the 10 A measurement
range defective?
Is the fuse of the mA/µA measure-
ment range defective?
Remedy
Check the status. Replace the battery.
Check the display (AC/DC) and switch
the function if required.
Check the correct connection.
Deactivate the Hold function.
Check the 10 A fuse F2.
Check the 800 mA fuse F1.
