10.4. Density determination of solids (hydrostatic weighing)
Density is the relationship of weight [g] : volume [cm
weighing the sample in air. The volume results from the ascending force [g] of the

Operation
The density is determined with help of the underfloor weighing device.
Prepare the balance as follows:
• Turn-over the balance
• Screw-in hook for underfloor weighing (option)
• Put the balance over an opening
• Hook-in the sample support
• Fill measuring liquid in a vessel (e.g. beaker) and temper it.
Activate function [q SET 5]
(see chap. 7).
