3.4.2 Mechanical integration
The operation life of servomotor bearings depends largely on the care and attention given to this
operation.
The following formula is generally used as a good means for ascertaining the pulley radial load:
M
=
×
3
Fr
K
10
R
Belt tension must never exceed the values given by the manufacturer. This tension can be determined
with an instrument that measures natural belt flexion frequency.
We cannot be held responsible for wear on the drive shaft resulting from excessive strain.
In the event of a servomotor-gearbox association, the gearbox must act as a seal against grease
at the motor end. In the event of an IP 65 servomotor associated with gearbox comprising its own
seals, the seal fitted to the drive shaft must be kept.
In the event that our company did not supply the gearbox, check that the gearbox constraints
(integration conditions, drive shaft loads, etc.) are compatible with the selected servomotor. Check
on the gearbox certification.
Check on the gearbox sizing especially its loss torque.
In the event that the servomotor shaft has a cotter pin, make sure that the
coupling components have been balanced correctly without the cotter pin,
the servomotor having been balanced with its cotter pin.
Carefully check the alignment of the motor shaft with that of machine to be
driven thus avoiding vibration, irregular rotation or putting too much strain on
the shaft.
Prohibit any impact on the shaft and avoid press fittings which could mark
the bearing tracks. If press fitting cannot be avoided, it is advisable to
immobilize the shaft in motion; this solution is nevertheless dangerous as it
puts the resolver at risk.
Use the thread at the end of the shaft in accordance with the diagram for
fitting pulleys or accessories. It is possible to put pressure on the shoulder of
the shaft located in front of the bearing. In the event that the front bearing
block is sealed by a lip seal which rubs on the rotating section (version IP
65), we recommended that you lubricate the seal with grease thus
prolonging its operational life.
Permissible axial and radial loads for the shaft are given in the
manufacturer's specifications.
CAUTION: Any equipment such as gearbox, mechanical speed drives,
brakes, forced ventilation, integrated frequency converters, sensors,
actuators, etc. associated with the motor must also have ATEX certification.
In the event that the drive system uses a cogged belt, the drive pulley must
be fixed as close as possible to the flange. The pulley diameter is to be
selected so that the radial load does not exceed the limits given in the
catalogue.
Fr = radial load (N)
M = maximum output torque (N.m)
R = pulley radius (mm)
K =1.5 with a cogged belt
K = 2.with a V belt
K = 3.5 with a flat belt
